Why Should People Use Twitter for Business?

Twitter is a powerful social media tool that can be used for business. It can help you connect with customers and create a community of followers who are interested in what you do.

Twitter allows people to share quick updates about their company, products, or services. You can also use it to provide customer service and answer questions from customers. Additionally, Twitter can help you learn more about what people think about your company and products.

Setting Up a Twitter Account: What Do You Need To Get Started?

Setting up a Twitter account for a business page in 2022 is as easy as turning on your laptop. These are the steps that you need to follow to successfully create your account:

  • First, just go to Twitter.com and click on the "Sign Up" button.

How to Use Twitter for Business - Top 12 Tips for You!

Build a Profile

Twitter is a powerful social media tool that can be used for business. When used correctly, Twitter can help you build a profile that stands out from the competition. It is crucial to use a professional photo as your profile picture. Also, write a brief bio that describes your business and what you do.

Research Competitors

Twitter can be a powerful tool for businesses to research their competitors. By following the competition on Twitter, businesses can gain valuable insights into what their rivals are doing and how they are positioning themselves in the market. Once you’ve identified your competitors it may be tricky to keep up with their Tweets - one way of dealing with this is to add them to a Twitter list. (Make sure to set it to ‘private’!)

Identify Audience

One way to make sure Twitter is used effectively for your business is to identify your audience. Figure out whom you want to reach and what you want to say to them.

Once that is determined, use keywords in your tweets that will be most relevant to them. This will help Twitter followers who are not necessarily familiar with your business find and follow you.

Share Valuable Content

Sharing valuable content is another important factor in getting the most out of Twitter and engaging followers. This could include links to blog posts, articles, or even other tweets that you think are worth sharing.

You can also use Twitter to share news and updates about your company, products, or services. You can design graphics for your tweets easily and quickly with Ocoya. We’ll discuss it more later.

By providing valuable content and using Twitter for business purposes, you can help build relationships with customers and prospects, and boost your brand’s visibility online.

Optimize Content

When you optimize your content for Twitter, you can reach a larger audience and connect with potential customers. Make sure to use keywords in your tweets to help people find your content.

You can also use hashtags to join conversations about relevant topics. Keep your tweets short and to the point, and include a link to more information if necessary.

Engage with Followers

By engaging with your followers, you can create a connection with them and build loyalty. Here are some tips for engaging with your followers on Twitter:

  • Follow back your followers: This demonstrates that you are interested in what they have to say and shows that you are engaged with your audience.
  • Reply to DMs: Keep an eye on your DM and reply back if there are any queries related to your product, service, or in general.
  • Reply to tweets: This lets followers know that you are listening and allows you to start a conversation.
Use Hashtags

When using Twitter for business marketing, it is important to use hashtags. Hashtags are words or phrases that are preceded by the pound sign (#) and used to group messages together on Twitter.

When you include a hashtag in your tweet, it becomes searchable on Twitter. This means that people who are looking for tweets about a specific topic can find your tweet by searching for the hashtag.

Some of the most popular hashtags include #smallbusiness, #business, #marketing, and #socialmedia. You can also create your own hashtags specific to your business. When creating your own hashtags, be sure to make them easy to remember and easy to type.

Tweet regularly

One key to success is to tweet regularly. This will keep your followers engaged and interested in your tweets. Additionally, it is also crucial to know when your followers are most active and tweet at that time.  Social Bakers studied a random sample of 11,000 Tweets, and concluded that three tweets per day is the point where brands start seeing big engagement. The best and recommended way is to schedule tweets in advance using a tool like Ocoya.

Tweet Polls

Polls are a great way to engage with followers and get feedback. They can also be used to generate leads and market research.

To create a poll on Twitter, start by composing a tweet that includes the question you want answering. You can also include up to four possible answers, which will appear as voting options when people click on the tweet. Be sure to include a hashtag like #TwitterPoll so that your poll is easily found. Here is a clever example by Tinder using Polls as Threads.

Pin Tweets

The best way to make the most of Twitter is to “pin” your tweets. Pinning a tweet means that it will stay at the top of your profile, so it will be the first thing people see when they visit your page.

You can pin any tweet you want, but it’s a good idea to use this feature to highlight important announcements or promotions.

Create Twitter Space

Twitter space is the latest addition to Twitter's features list. It is recommended that businesses and even individuals should use Twitter space to create an impact. With Twitter space, you can directly speak with your audience and ask them for their feedback or recommendations about your product or service.

Use Twitter Analytics

One of the most important tools is Twitter's analytics dashboard. The dashboard provides data about how many people have seen your tweets, how many have clicked on them, and how many have retweeted or liked them.

It also shows you which tweets were the most successful and which ones failed. This information can help you determine which topics are most popular with your audience and adjust your content accordingly.

Twitter Ads

One paid way to maximize the use of Twitter for small businesses is through Twitter Ads. Twitter Ads are a way to promote tweets to a wider audience, which can help increase engagement and reach new customers.

When creating a Twitter Ad, it’s important to consider what you want to achieve. Some things to think about include:

  • What is the goal of the ad?
  • Who is the target audience?
  • What is the budget?
  • What is the timeline?

Once these questions are answered, it’s time to create the ad. The first step is to come up with a catchy headline and then write an engaging tweet that will capture attention. It’s also important to include a strong call-to-action, so people know what they should do next.

Do’s and Don'ts of Using Twitter for Business

The Do’s
Use Twitter Lists

Twitter Lists are an incredibly powerful way to organize your Twitter feed and keep track of the tweets you want to see. You can create lists for people you follow, companies you follow, or any other topic that interests you. When you create a list, you can choose to make it public or private.

Must Include Image

Be sure to include images whenever possible. Images can help grab people's attention and make your tweets more engaging. You can design attractive images within minutes using Ocoya.

Give Credit to Others

When you're using someone else’s content, it's important to give credit where it is due. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Always use proper attribution when sharing someone else's content. This means including a link back to the original source and crediting the author or publisher.
  • If you want to share a tweet that's been tweeted by someone else, be sure to include the original author's handle in your tweet.
  • When replying to another user's tweet, always use @username, so they'll get notified of your reply.
The Don’ts
Send Automated Messages

One of the biggest don'ts is sending automated direct messages. This is a spammy tactic that can annoy followers and make you look unprofessional.

Always Talk About Yourself

Another thing to avoid is tweeting too much about yourself or your business. The key to Twitter is providing valuable content and engaging with followers, not just promoting your products or services.

Follow Unfollow Game

Don’t follow or unfollow people just to get them to follow you back or buy your product. It has been seen that many people follow others just to get a follow back and then unfollow them later.
